Our Story
As veterans, brothers and Texans, we started Vosburg Welsh for many reasons. Here are the three you should know: First, we aim to contribute to the development of our country and our home state by supporting the development projects bringing us into the future and preserving our past. Second, we're motivated to operate a profitable, family-owned venture that is focused on the quality of our work and the character of our people. Finally, we want to do work that allows us to spend our days outside and working with our hands.
Matthew Welsh began his career as a subcontractor; locating, installing and servicing water and wastewater utilities for large commercial construction projects in Washington, D.C. After earning his degree from Texas A&M University, Matthew gained experience on several large-scale Texas highway development projects as a Utility Coordination and Adjustment specialist. Matthew is also proud to have served as an Infantry Officer in the United States Marine Corps.
John Welsh has worked in the underground utility market for over 10 years. During this time, he has provided private utility locating services across a wide range of projects - to include wind farm construction in West Texas and state infrastructure projects in Houston. Prior to Vosburg Welsh, John spent time as a pilot in the U.S. Air Force and obtained a Medical Degree from Texas A&M University.
Vosburg Welsh is a Service-Disabled Veteran Owned Business. We believe that our experience within the engineering and construction industries - combined with careers as Air Force & Marine Corps officers - gives us an unmatched skill set. Integrity, accountability, discipline and attention to detail are not only important - they are instrumental to our everyday operations. We look forward to working with you.

During this time, he has provided full Subsurface Utility Engineering (SUE) services across a wide range of projects - to include wind farm construction in West Texas and state infrastructure projects in Houston. It’s not the same as his time spent flying an F-16s for the U.S. Air Force, but it definitely beats a cubicle.
